The second day of the 2019 Open de España saw a second round of 69 for Sergio García, who enjoyed another day of solid golf, although he watched a few birdie putts slip by the hole.
It was a fairly monotonous round of golf, according to García himself, because although he was comfortable, he failed to find the spark he needed to get into the final group.
Despite that, he will be feeling positive because he has played very consistently and it looks like the wind may pick up in the afternoon session, maybe also at the weekend, conditions that the player from Castellon is very comfortable with.
A long putt he holed on the 8th (his 17th) will have made his lunch taste better. While the short putts won’t drop, at least he is draining some long ones, because if one thing is clear watching García play at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, it is that one stroke of luck could catapult him into the fight for victory.
