After a dream first round, Adri Arnaus has once again shown that he is ready to produce: he has won the right to keep fighting for the Open de España. On another memorable round for the all-Spanish group, the Barcelona native’s performance was such that he now shares the lead with Rafa Cabrera-Bello. Both of them sit at -11, ahead of Samuel del Val and Jon Rahm in what is starting to look like another celebration of Spanish golf.
Arnaus produced no fewer than 5 birdies and an eagle on an impressive afternoon. His performance though was tarnished by two bogeys: one at the start of the round, on the 2nd hole and the other at the end, on the 18th. As the competition gets more serious, the 24-year-old Spaniard keeps giving the players who are better than him on paper something to worry about. In reality it is he who is starting to become the player to fear.
