A seven-time European Tour winner, Madrid native and member of Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño has all the credentials to tell us how to best negotiate the course at this week’s Acciona Open de España presented by Madrid.
In this invaluable guide, the Madrid golfer provides us with detailed commentary and reveals the keys to a successful round as we watch a video of each hole.
GFC’s top four tips:
• If you manage to par the first three holes, you can be more than happy with your start.
• The right-hand side should be favoured on many of the holes.
• Be very careful not to get on the wrong tier on the greens, otherwise three-putts will be difficult to avoid.
• If you play well, you can post a good score, but if you’re not on your game it will really beat you up.
