Jon Rahm enjoyed a great day of golf in the first round of the 2019 Open de España. After handing his card in, he said he could only think of one shot he was unhappy with, his second on the 18th, which cost him the only blemish on his card.
Six birdies compared to that lone error left the Basque on -5 and feeling very positive, particularly after a bad tournament in Scotland last week and a disappointing round in yesterday’s Pro-Am.
Rahm was feeling good all day, both because of some solid golf and because he was playing with two good friends and a passionate gallery cheering him on. Rafa Cabrera, Adri Arnaus and Rahm put on quite a show for the thousands of spectators that have turned out at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid to enjoy some first-class golf.
