On the fourth and final day of the Open de España, Sergio García finally found some form with his putter. He reached his final score of -12 (-6 on Sunday) to finish tied 7th with his best round by far this week; 4 fewer than the 69s he produced on the previous 3 days.
With an eagle and 6 birdies, García was able to leave Madrid feeling good about his game and the fans that supported him unconditionally throughout the tournament. 2 bogeys (on the front nine) did nothing to take the smile from his face as he finally found his touch on the greens and translated it into an acceptable end to his week.
Despite the fact that he was unable to produce the results to reflect the solid golf he played all week, the player from Borriol will be sure to take some confidence into the final stretch of the season. Also pleased about the dazzling display from Jon Rahm, playing in the Spanish capital again could not have been more exciting for Sergio, as he told us after finishing his round:
